Plains Equipment Group, a leading and innovative John Deere dealership, is looking for a Lead Shop Foreman to join our O’Neill, Nebraska location.  In this role you will assist in coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity, while providing high quality repair work.  We offer great benefits including a competitive wage and relocation assistance.

In this position you will:
 

• Assist with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to skills and knowledge
• Assist in the appraisal of repair orders coming into the Service Department
• Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
• Direct and assist in the diagnosis of machine problems of technicians and apprentices and assist in their development
• Inspect and repair all special tools and recommend new tooling as required
• Coordinate and schedule in-house technician training
• Fill in for the Service Manager in their absence
• May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer
• Provide feedback to the Service Manager on technician performance

Requirements for the Position:
 

• 5+ years experience as a Service Technician
• Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
• Ability to lead and develop others
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office
• Associate’s Degree
