At Plains Equipment Group we are differentiating ourselves through our people, our partnerships, and our performance.  We are looking for a Irrigation Operations Manager to assume responsibility for the sales and service of irrigation across Plains Equipment Group with our Reinke contracts.  In this position you will develop, implement, oversee and monitor the department processes and objectives and assume responsibility for all the irrigation department financial metrics.  You will also be responsible for researching and introducing new water resource products and technology.  This position can be located in one of the following Nebraska locations; Lincoln, York, McCook or North Platte.
 
In this position you will:
 

• Creates and monitors the irrigation department business plan and budget
• Develops and implements sales objectives and processes
• Drives sales, market share, and financial performance
• Researches and develops business case for introducing new water resource products and technology
• Monitors customer business activity and competitive business activity / products
• Solicits new irrigation customers
• Works with Regional Functional Managers and others as needed to coordinate irrigation department activities with the rest of the business.
• Creates and monitors budgets for irrigation projects
• Works with marketing to advertise, market, and promote the irrigation department
• Develops and facilitates customer satisfaction programs and develops relationships with key customers

 
Requirements:
 

• 5+ years of experience  with irrigation systems management required
• Strong background in agronomy or irrigation system engineering/manufacturing required
• Proven managerial ability including leading, coaching, motivating and developing others
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet Functions
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Water Science, or other related field.
