At Plains Equipment Group, we recognize that the key to our success is maintaining a strong service department.  We are seeking a Turf and Commercial Service Technician to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on our customers and our dealer-owned turf and small agricultural equipment. 
 
In this position you will:
 

• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on turf and small agricultural equipment
• Provide customers with excellent customer service
• Perform new equipment set up
• Participate in service training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products    
• Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Maintain a clean work area and appearance
• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Track time spent on all service projects and material used in performing the service

 
Requirements:
 

• 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf and small agricultural equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Valid drivers license is required
• Fork lift license preferred
