Description

We are looking for a Sales Representative / Store Supervisor to join our team in Oberlin. In this position you will have responsibilities for sell new and used agricultural and turf equipment to customers and assume the leadership role for managing day to day customer and employee activity, fostering an environment of cooperation and teamwork and promoting and instilling excellent customer service and strong operational performance.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Sell machinery and sprayer equipment to customers in defined sales area

  • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment

  • Collect and maintain customer information in assigned territory

  • Conduct new equipment field demonstrations

  • Monitor customer business activities and competitive business activity / products

  • Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods

  • Attend sales training events/seminars

  • Follow defined sales processes

  • Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment

  • Assist District Manager in driving the store toward the achievement of sales goals and objectives

  • Assist the District Manager in developing, coaching and leading the sales staff at assigned store

  • Responsible for day to day accountability of employees and the overall morale of the location; maintain open lines of communication with all employees; ensure District Manager is aware of any performance concerns.

  • Help District Manager coordinate events: Employee Meetings, Manager / Sales Meetings, Marketing Events

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer friendly facility.  Enure retail image (Showroom and Lot) is well maintained and merchandised.
  • Work with functional and district managers to resolve customer complaints and issues at the local level

  • Ensure local compliance with organizational policies, processes and procedures

  • Ensure the company core values are well assimilated into the culture at assigned location

  • Coordinate attendance at community events; maintain local visibility and positive public relations

  • Ensure the facility is well maintained for customers and employees

  • Maintain a safe work environment for employees. Monitor safety plans, implement safety measures, and ensure safety is addressed regularly at employee meetings

  • Bring competitive issues to the attention of Functional and District Managers

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or operations management

  • Experience with John Deere and competitive products

  • Ability to professionally lead and motivate others

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet Functions

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
